Youth Ministry

Middle and High School Youth Group

LINKS meets at church the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 6-8PM.  This is LINKS, the junior high youth group. LINKS stands for Light, Inclusion, Nourish, Kindness, and Service. This spring we will have loads of fun! We are planning on doing some activities such as boating, roller skating, baking, and watching movies as well as many other activities. We are also hoping to volunteer at places like Hart, the cat shelter, the soup kitchen, and picking up trash at the beach. With all this in mind, we hope that you will join us on this fantastic journey.

Confirmation and Our Whole Lives

We offer these programs in alternate years.

Confirmation is a rite of passage in Christian tradition.  It is often a service of worship in which young people affirm the faith promises that their parents made when they were baptized or have the opportunity to be baptized and make those promises themselves, thereby becoming “adult” members of the church.  Confirmation is offered every other year for 7th-9th graders and older youth.  It is an opportunity to explore faith and go on a spiritual journey that indeed will continue for the rest of one’s life.

Our Whole Lives Sexuality Education Program helps 8th and 9th grade participants make informed and responsible decisions about their relationships, health and behavior in the context of their faith. It equips participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture. It provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills and understand the social, emotional and spiritual aspects of sexuality.
