Michelle Josephson
Church School Director

We have a very active church school program of around fifty children from preschool to sixth grade. We currently use a lectionary based curriculum called Seasons of the Spirit. (Basically, each week, the children are working on the same passages as the church service scriptures, giving them a chance to discuss the same lesson within their family.)

Everyone starts the service in the sanctuary. After the announcements, opening prayers and first hymn, there is a children’s time where they all go to the altar for a special message from one of our two pastors. They are then dismissed to classes until the end of the service. On Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of each month), the children in K-6 return to the sanctuary to participate in Communion.

We have a variety of special events through the year. There is always a Christmas pageant, a four day “Summerfest”, Thanksgiving baskets for shut ins and a special service where the third graders receive bibles. We also have other events that vary from year to year- story tellers and musicians, child-friendly speakers from Heifer International, craft assemblies and more!
