Judy Braun, Ministerial Assistant
Judy is a graduate of Bangor Theological Seminary and holds a Master of Divinity degree with special emphasis in pastoral care and counseling. She is currently the Ministerial Assistant in what she terms: “this warm welcoming, caring, diverse, progressive, mission focused and center of Cumberland Congregational Church!” Judy’s role is to preach periodically, facilitate the Called to Care visitation program, provide religious services at Brentwood Rehabilitation Center, lead support groups and adult education as needed, including a Bible reading group, promote health and wellness and assist the Senior Minister or church leaders deem necessary for spiritual growth in this faith filled congregation.

The Congregational Church in Cumberland is not only the spiritual center of our community; it is the center of our community. It is an extremely welcoming church and as such encourages participation of all people regardless of background or beliefs. We enjoy strong cooperation with our schools and towns, and as such we have been able reach out to our local community and beyond. We have sponsored trips to Haiti, Honduras, and Safe Passage in Guatemala. We not only emphasize Christian worship, but we host countless other activities such as two children’s preschools, Scouts, Lions Club, Senior Graduation Breakfast, Christmas Tree Lighting, and the community food pantry. It is indeed a pleasure to be part of this Church. I invite you to come and worship God with us, and be part of our Christian Community.
